Free Estate Planning Workshop! This program helps individuals and families prepare essential documents and make informed decisions about future planning. You will learn (1) what documents you need during your life so the person you choose can help if you become unavailable or lose capacity and (2) what documents you need after your life to ensure your things are passed on to the people you choose without extra costs. Probate Notes Workshop. Offered by our colleagues at the Elder Law & Disability Rights Center and Superior Court Self-Help Services. In person or online. Probate notes provide a brief summary of your probate matter along with any errors and/or deficiencies regarding the paperwork you filed. The notes are how the court communicates with the parties prior to the court hearing to tell them if the matter will be approved or if there are errors or deficiencies (matters to “clear”) with the petition. If corrections are not made to the error/deficiencies, the probate case may be continued until all corrections are made. This workshop will help you to find your probate notes on the Court’s website, correct your notes online, and plan the next steps in your case. More information here.
Consumer Debt Workshop: Second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of every month, 9 AM-12 PM. Sponsored by Community Legal Aid SoCal and Public Law Center.
